The City of Lakewood is now recruiting Lakewood Youth Council members for the 2011-2012 term. The Youth Council’s main responsibility is to convey to the Mayor and City Council issues impacting youths that have a city-wide impact and assist other students to become involved in their communities. The current Youth Council is compiling environmental sustainability practices in our city which will be used to develop a “Green Initiative” that will be presented to City Council in the near future. Youth Council members must attend a school in Lakewood or reside within the City of Lakewood. They are required to attend mandatory meetings on the first & third Mondays of each month beginning in September 2011.
