The 1970-71 Clover Park Team was 4th in the state tournament, the 1971-72  was 2nd in the State Tournament with one state champion and four other place winners.

The Hall of Fame nomination is specifically for the 1972-1973 Clover Park Wrestling Team who had a season duel meet record of 18-1 (loss to Edmonds by 3 points), the JV team was 15-1 (loss to Olympia by 1 point).  This  team won the league tournament, the region tournament and state tournament.

This Clover Park Team qualified six wrestlers to the state tournament held at UPS in Tacoma.  Of these six, five individuals advanced to the finals and all won, quite an accomplishment. The 6 individual state competitors had a record of    22-2   in individual competition at the state tournament.

In 1973 there were only 12 weight classes (there are 14 weight classes now), individuals placed and received team points for places 1-4 where as today individuals place 1-8.  In addition only one person per weight from each school could compete in post duel meet season tournaments (two per weight are allow now).  Individuals were allowed to compete in only 14 team matches so the additional team competitions were filled with JV wrestlers.
