Tacoma Community College and Tacoma’s Grand Cinema are partnering to present a Diversity Film Festival. The event begins April 6 and runs through April 17, 2011.
Featuring dramatic and documentary films that promise to both entertain and inspire, the festival seeks to explore and celebrate individual and cultural differences through film.
The event is being underwritten by the TCC Foundation, with Tacoma restaurants The Spar and The Hub each sponsoring one film. The college will offset costs associated with the festival through admissions.
“We wanted to do something to draw the community in, and The Grand is a well-know community gathering place,” said TCC Professional Development Coordinator Alan Waugh. “We are very glad that The Grand agreed to work with us. Manager Philip Cowan has been a wonderful collaborator.”
