Charles Mason Hancock, a long time resident of Tacoma, Washington was born January 24, 1934 to Earl and Lois Hancock in Norfolk, Virginia. He later moved to Southport, North Carolina and then to Astoria, Oregon where he graduated from Astoria High School. He passed away on March 30, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by his family. Charles was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 55 years, Pearl. He is survived by his son Bob (Pat), grandchildren Corie, Scott and Kelly, daughter Lois, five grandchildren, Bryan Hancock grandson, and Bill Kirk, brother-in-law. Elizabeth “Do” Petty went home to be with her Father in Heaven on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the age of 85. She will be most remembered by her devotion to her Lord Jesus, service to others, remarkable courage, endless humor, and of courseher sweet potato pies. Dennis Edwin Bauer At age 60 went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2011. Dennis loved his family more than anything and his witty sense of humor will be missed by so many. Patricia Maureen Nino passed away March 31, 2011, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born February 11, 1940 and grew up in Tacoma, graduating from St. Leo’s in 1956. She dedicated her life to her family, and worked many years at the Tacoma Public Library and the American Plywood Association. She had a passion for helping others and volunteered for the Catholic Community Services, Relay For Life , American Heart Association , and St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Pat had many interests, including knitting, sewing, gardening, reading, and shopping. Pat is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ron, her daughters Lisa (Chuck) and Karin (Brett), and her son Michael. She has three grandchildren, Evan, Spencer, and Sophia. She also is survived by her 94-year-old mother, Grace, brothers Jim (Rita) and John (Mary-Pat), sister-in-law Chris, and families. Pat was preceded in death by her father Martin, and brother Bill. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Allenmore Hospital for their compassion and excellent care of Pat in her final days. Pat’s services will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at 5:30 pm, followed by a dinner reception at Bellarmine Student Center. EDWARD R. TERRIEN 7/23/1921 – 3/30/2011 Edward Terrien, son of Edward and Antoinette (Collier) Terrien, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday morning, March 30, 2011. Ed lived in Tacoma all his life with the exception of his WWII Army tour of duty in Belgium, France, Germany, and Holland. Following his military service, Ed co-founded Television Service Center in Tacoma with Robert Villont (1952-1977), and retired in 1985 following open heart surgery. Ed had two children, Terry and Tina, from a previous marriage. Ed later married Arlene, and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. He was an active member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church as a deacon and Bible teacher until its closure in 2002, when he and his wife joined Temple Baptist Church. Ed began work as a mail carrier servicing Morton and Tacoma, then worked for Northern Pacific Railway until he enlisted in the Army during World War II, followed by his joining the National Guard, beginning as a signal repairman and retiring as Chief Warrant Officer III. Simultaneously, he began his 25-year partnership in TV sales and service. His favorite pastime was playing golf with his grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by son Terry, brothers Harry and Tom, and sister Betty Ryker, all of Tacoma. He is survived by wife Arlene, daughters Tina (Donald) Shull, and Debbie Hopkins, and son Jim Bussard, all of Tacoma; grandchildren Rogina (Frank) Dietz of Eatonville, Krista Shull, Aaron and Patrick Hopkins, and Lena Bussard of Tacoma, and grandson Jason (Andrea) Shull of Germany; and great-grandsons Joshua, Colin and Aaron Dietz of Eatonville, along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church (Fircrest) on 19th Street across from TCC. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Orting.
