Alex Robinson’s dedication to academics, leadership, athletics and the community is phenomenal! For that reason, Alex is the Rotary Club of Lakewood March 2011 Student of the Month from Steilacoom High School. Alex ranks number 12 in his class of 166 students. With little effort Alex earns A’s in such classes as calculus, physics, and AP European History. Alex is intellectually curious and impresses his teachers with continually going beyond the normal requirement of the academic classroom. Alex has earned numerous academic and athletic honors. He received the Nisqually All League Football Award, is a four year Nisqually League and or South Puget Sound League Scholar Athlete, and has accumulated four years of varsity letters in band, football, and baseball.
In addition to being an academic “powerhouse” Alex is very involved with leadership and community service activities. As treasurer of the ASB he has taken a leading role in raising $50,000.00 for an electronic sign for Steilacoom High School. He has presented to the Steilacoom and DuPont City Councils, Kiwanis, and the Steilacoom School Board. You will find him before and after school attending tirelessly to his duties as ASB Treasurer. He is in charge of a budget that exceeds $300,000 per year.
Always willing to help, Alex is truly dedicated to every task he organizes and, more than not, his finished work surpasses expectations. He has the intuitive, empathetic nature a superior youth leader needs. Following graduation, Alex plans to pursue a degree in engineering. This extraordinary person will continue to excel in his every pursuit, and deserves the Lakewood Rotary Student of the Month Award.
