Open Access for Individuals with Medicaid

March 23, 2011 By Ben Sclair

Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare has “open access” for anyone with valid Medicaid coverage, who is seeking outpatient mental health services.  Children, adolescents or adults may call for an appointment in the next day or so, or may simply walk in at a time that is convenient for them, and will receive an intake assessment that day.  Walk-in assessments are accepted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Morning times are generally faster, although regardless of the time of day, wait times are minimal.

In this current environment in which there is so much awareness of cuts in services, it’s important to be aware that Medicaid funded outpatient mental health services are immediately available.  At Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare, we take great pride in both the timeliness and quality of our services and wish to continue to be a valued resource for our community.

Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare is located at 9330 59th Ave SW, in Lakewood Washington.  Our main switchboard number is 253-581-7020.  If calling for an intake assessment appointment, please ask to speak to someone in the Access Center.  Also, please remember that there are no geographical restrictions within Pierce County on where a Medicaid-covered individual can receive their outpatient mental health services.  Any individual who is covered by Medicaid can choose any licensed community mental health provider.
