Free job fair for those with developmental disabilities

Job seekers and students with disabilities can attend a free conference called “Tools 4 Success” to help prepare them for their job searches and employment. The half-day employment and technology conference will be held March 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tacoma Community College.

Sponsored by Pierce County Community Connections, Developmental Disabilities, and community organizations, the conference is also open to career counselors, employment specialists, parents, and agency case managers. A $20 registration fee is required for professionals and parents.

The conference is aimed at being interactive and assistive technology will be on display. Special sessions will include resume preparation, interviewing skills, job and career search, getting and keeping a job, computer tools, asking for reasonable accommodation, and success stories.
