The Steilacoom Historical Museum Association will host its annual Silent Movie Night at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 19 in the Museum’s lower level. This year’s feature is The Covered Wagon. The movie was released in 1923 and was the start of the modern western movie.
The story tells about two wagon caravans that combine for the westward push to Oregon. On their quest the pioneers experience desert heat, mountain snow, hunger and an Indian attack. Of course, there is a love triangle.
Admission is “two bits,” and there is free popcorn. (Beverages are available for a small donation.) There is a rumor that Ezra Meeker might put in an appearance. Plan to arrive early since seating is limited.
