More information on officer involved in accident

March 10, 2011 By Ben Sclair

By Lt. Chris Lawler, Public Information Officer

The officer involved in the accident on Perimeter Road indicated that the first three letters of the license plate on the suspect vehicle should be “ABT”. We are unsure of the remaining four numbers, but it’s possible it contains a “1” and a “4”. The entire plate should have seven characters; with the first three being “ABT” and the remaining four numbers including a “1” and “4”…but we don’t know it which sequence. The vehicle is further described as being “fast” and handles well on the road.  The exhaust is described as “throaty” and the windows were tinted.  We have eliminated several vehicles with similar characteristics so far, but are asking the public to keep an eye out for any vehicles matching the description. The officer was released from the hospital earlier this evening and is resting at home with no significant injuries. Tips can be called in to the Lakewood Police Department 253-830-5044 or Pierce County Crimestoppers 253-591-5959.
