JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – The 373rd Military Intelligence Battalion (Battlefield Surveillance), a U.S. Army Reserve unit based in Tumwater, Wash., will host a deployment ceremony Thursday at 11 a.m. at the JBLM French Theater in preparation for their upcoming deployment to Iraq. The unit will deploy about 300 Army Reserve Soldiers in support of Operation New Dawn.
After the ceremony the Soldiers will remain at Joint Base Lewis-McChord to complete required mobilization training before moving into theater. Once deployed, the battalion will provide intelligence capabilities to commanders at all levels.
