Steilacoom residents, as well as many traveling the Steilacoom- DuPont Highway, will be happy to learn that part of the project to repair and widen East Road at North Fort will include installation of a traffic light at the intersection of East Road and the Steilacoom – DuPont Highway, according to an announcement in the town letter from Steilacoom.
According to the newsletter, JBLM has started work to repair and widen East Road which is used by both active and retirees to enter and leave North Fort. Additionally, the project calls for installing a traffic control light where East Road intersects with the highway. The project is expected to be completed in late April.
