On Wednesday, March 23, Communities in Schools of Lakewood will host its annual Champions for Youth Breakfast, showcasing who, why and how we are changing young lives in Lakewood. The breakfast begins at 7AM at Old Country Buffet in Lakewood Towne Center.
We are honored to have Lt. Governor Brad Owen as our keynote speaker to provide a thought provoking message on the status of our youth today. Besides his work in Olympia, Lt. Governor Owen also co-chairs the Board of Directors for Washington State Mentors and is passionate about increasing the number of mentors in our state, knowing the vital role they play in helping our students succeed.
Tony Robinson, a former vice-president of Operations and Facilities at Clover Park Technical College, will emcee the breakfast this year. Robinson has been a long-time champion for youth. Currently, he chairs the Executive Board for Lakewood’s Promise.
Join us for breakfast on March 23, meet our Lt. Governor, learn how CISL has delivered the Five Promises and get to know a few of our successful Clover Park students. Funds generated from this benefit support CISL After-School, Champions Mentor and Readiness to Learn programs, providing opportunities and motivation to succeed in school.
While there is no charge, a donation of $50 is graciously requested. For reservations and information, contact Christina at our CISL office – 253.589.7489 or kidsandfamilies@cislakewood.org.
