The Tacoma Pierce County Workforce Development Council is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) package for Program Year(s) 2011. The RFP addresses the employment and training needs of economically disadvantaged youth that will lead them to self sufficiency, including the ability to get and keep a job. All proposals should provide effective and comprehensive activities to youth seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success.
This Request for Proposals process is an open and competitive process. Eligible applicants include governmental organizations, community and technical colleges, local education agencies, and private for-profit or non-profit nonsectarian organizations.
Proposals must be designed within the regulations established by Title I of Public Law 105-220, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), of 1998. The funded proposal will serve the eligible youth of Tacoma and Pierce County.
Based on current funding estimates from the DOL, the amount available for youth employment and training services is:
Program Year 2011 Title I-B $950,000 Youth Employment and Training
Request for Proposal packages and complete instructions may be obtained today, January 25, 2011, at: www.workforce-central.org. Proposals are due to WorkForce Central, 3650 South Cedar St., Tacoma, WA 98409, by 5pm March 1, 2011.
A Bidders Conference will be held to on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00pm at WorkForce Central 3650 S. Cedar Street Tacoma, WA 98409. Bidders are encouraged to email questions prior to the conference to email@example.com.
