Alma BlakeAlma Marie Blake 96, born on January 24, 1915 in Debs, MN, married the late Ernest Blake on January 31, 1933, after only knowing him for 1 week, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2011 which would have been their 78th wedding anniversary. Alma enjoyed traveling, especially going to Reno and Vegas with her daughter Judy and granddaughters, Debbie and Wendy, spending time with family, sitting in the sun on her back patio and reading books. She leaves behind one sister (Ruth) four children (Carol, Judy, Richard and Wally) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by Ernest, her husband of 51 years, her sons Earl and William and daughters Violet and Barbara. She retired at the age of 71 in 1986. Her granddaughter Terrie assisted her Auntie Judy with wonderful care of her Grandma the last 3 years of Alma’s life. Judy could not have done it without her. There will be a viewing on Friday, February 4th from 4PM to 7 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the Valley Chapel on Saturday, February 5th at 1 PM. A reception will follow at Judy’s home at 8912 19th Ave E., Tacoma, WA 98445. Alma was loved by all and will be truly missed. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. Karn OckfenKarn Marie Ockfen, 70, died at home on January 30th, 2011 after a seven-year battle with multiple myeloma. Karn is survived by her beloved children Nikala (Jeremy Johnson), Cort (Liz Chick), and Tasha (Tory Burns), and grandchildren Bjorn Johnson and Signe Ockfen. She is also survived by her brother Ted Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Ockfen, and her daughter Tanya. Karn was a lifetime resident of Lakewood. She spent her time raising her kids, working at a women’s boutique in sales and designing window displays, and enjoyed interior decorating. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 2PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, S. 121st and Park Ave., Parkland. Reception to follow at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club, Lakewood. Memorials may be made to Holden Village, HCOO-Stop 2, Chelan, WA 98816. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. Please sign the online guestbook at www.mountainviewtacoma.com .
