Wilhelm Braun Born December 6, 1962 and peacefully passed January 17, 2011. He survived by his children Lyn and Taylor Braun, and other loved ones. He fulfilled his dreams, and through them, he helped many people succeed. He was placed at Mountain View Memorial Park. Pops will always be loved and missed. Norma B. Finstuen was born on February 20, 1914 in Binford, ND to Nels and Nettie Halvorson. She married Arnold Finstuen on June 17, 1934. In the fall of 1936 Arnold and Norma moved to Tacoma. They were active members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church from 1936 until the present. Norma especially loved quilting with the church women, helping with altar Guild, and serving wherever needed. She worked for the Tacoma School District for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Geraldine, and son John. She is survived by her daughter Carol Gray (Don), her grandchildren Cheryl Fischer, Christopher, David, and Andrew Gray, Peter, Andrew, and Katherine Finstuen, her eleven great-grandchildren, sisters Gladys Beckham of Rock Hill, SC and Inez Asmus of Rocklin, CA, and many nieces and nephews. We are grateful for the loving care givers at King’s Manor and Hospice. Graveside for the family will be at 9:30, Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 in Mountain View Memorial Park. Alice Rae Grover passed away peacefully on January 29, 2011 in Lakewood, WA. She was born June 18, 1926 in Ellensburg, WA to parents Mary and Raymond Keen. She was preceded in death by husbands Theodore Riedle, Earl Shafer, and Art Grover. While her children were growing up, Alice kept busy cooking, canning, sewing, and gardening. The family was also a foster home for three children. In 1978 Alice and Earl moved to Sequim, where Alice turned her sewing hobby into a business by opening a remnant and notions store. Later she had a busy alterations business. She also loved to sew for her grandchildren. She is survived by her son Theodore (Sue) and daughter Teresa Henry, along with grandchildren Eliesa, William, Allison, Holly, and Bryan. Nancy Ellen Petree Surrounded by her loving family, Nancy Ellen Petree passed away peacefully in her home January 30, 2011. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on March 25, 1938 to Margaret Farley and Jim Foster. Nancy met and married the love of her life, Carl (Pete) Petree, on July 1, 1955 and they were happily married for 55 years. Nancy retired from Tower Lanes on April 15, 2000 after 33 very remarkable years. She was often referred to as “Mrs. Towers.” There she helped set up leagues, worked as a coach for the junior leagues, including the Learn to Bowl Program for kids, adults and the TCC bowling classes. In 2005, Nancy was inducted into the South Sound “USBC” Hall of Fame. Her infectious smile and talent for teaching will never be forgotten. Not only did she love her bowling, she loved spending time with her family, camping trips, antiquing, painting, the Seahawks, the Mariners, and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Our very special yearly trips to Long Beach were never to be forgotten. Nancy is survived by her husband Pete Petree, her loving sons Larry (Linda) and Joe (Joann), five wonderful grandchildren, Shannon, Michael, Westin, Jessica and Clinton, and her two great-grandsons, Jackson and Issac. Nancy is also survived by her four living brothers and sisters, along with many other adoring family and friends. Services will be held Friday February 4, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3rd from 1:00pm to 9:00 pm and Friday, February 4th from 8:00am to 11:00am.
