Local firm chosen as Chamber CEO Search Consultant

January 30, 2011 By Ben Sclair

By Mimi Jansen, Communications Coordinator

The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber CEO Search Team updated the Chamber Board of Directors today at the January Board meeting and introduced Hagel & Company as the selected search consultant.  Frank Hagel, of Hagel & Co., reviewed outreach plans and the schedule going forward.  The outreach program is designed to gather input from a broad cross section of our community.  Outreach results and a summary of desired traits for a new Chamber CEO is scheduled to be provided to the Chamber Board at the February Board meeting.

Several national firms responded to the Search Team’s Request for Proposal and the Search Team heard consultant presentations January 12, as originally scheduled.  After deliberation, the CEO Search Team unanimously selected Hagel & Company as the consultant to assist the search team.

Don Johnson, who is heading the Chamber’s CEO Search Team, said “the CEO Search Team considers the outreach program a major factor in selecting the correct candidate as the new CEO and Hagel & Co. had the strongest commitment and program depth allocated to that part of the project.”

Visit the Chamber’s website www.tacomachamber.org for updates and more information on how the search is progressing.
