The City of University Place honored Bridgeport Place in an awards ceremony during a recent meeting of the city council. Mayor Debbie Klosowski and Recreation Supervisor Jennifer Robinson made the presentation of the plaque. Jaynie Jones, Community Relations Coordinator for Bridgeport Place, received the plaque on behalf of the entire staff and management team.
The plaque reads as follows, “City of University Place Washington, presented to Bridgeport Place Retirement and Assisted Living… The University Place Recreation Department would like to acknowledge your dedication, energy, time, and cooperation to the University Place Senior Center and the Senior population of our community. We thank you for your support. University Place, Washington”
During 2010 the city’s funding for the University Place Senior Center was dramatically cut. Bridgeport Place stepped up to help with an array of fundraising activities and supplies to help ensure that services and activities for local seniors would continue on seamlessly.
