Emma T. Archer, 93, died on January 11, 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Max, daughter-in-law Isabelle, and grandson Adam. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM January 24, 2011 at Mountain View Memorial Park. Memorial services at 2:00PM in the Tacoma Lutheran Home Chapel, 1301 N. Highlands Pkwy., Tacoma 98406. Memorials may be sent to the Max and Emma Archer Scholarship Fund at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 N. Stevens, Tacoma, 98406, or the Tacoma Lutheran Home. Luke Bryant

Luke T. Bryant Entered Heaven on Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Tacoma. He was born in Orlando, Florida on May 20, 1927 to Lawrence A. Bryant and Pearl Wright. Luke was drafted into the army and transferred to Fort Lewis in 1946. It was there that he met and married his love, Maggie Simmons. They were married for 57 years. Luke was a loving husband, father grandfather, and friend. After finishing barbering school, Luke was employed by the Veterans Administration and worked there for 37 years as well as having his own shop on Tacoma Ave. Upon retiring from the V.A. he barbered in his home until he was physically unable to do so. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for 64 years and loved every opportunity he had to attend. Luke is survived by two daughters, Candace Cooper and Gwendolyn Gilbertson, two grandsons, Jesse and Joel Gilbertson, two brothers, Lawrence (Alene) Bryant, Jerry, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation begins on Thursday, Jan. 20th from 2-9 PM at Mt. View Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00AM, Friday, Jan 21st, 2011 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4818 E. Florence Flintoff

Florence Flintoff passed away peacefully in Tacoma on January 15, 2011. She was born in Portland, Oregon on May 26, 1921, and spent most of her life in Tacoma. We say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Florence will always be remembered for her wonderful chicken and spaghetti dinners, served with much love and hospitality. Her family and friends always looked forward to the delicious Christmas cookies she baked, and that she loved to share. Florence, along with her husband George, also loved spending time with family and friends at their beach property on Henderson Bay. She was preceded in death by her husband George Flintoff. They had been married for 57 years. Florence was also preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Henry Schierman, six brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by sons Clifford (Carolyn), Gary, and Richard, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society . A memorial service will be held in the Aspen Chapel, Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. Joan Maureen Malloy Feb. 12, 1933-Jan. 15 2011 Passed away peacefully to return home to her loving husband of 38 years, John Malloy. Also preceding her is her son James Merritt and grandsons Joseph and Darious. Joan is survived by her son Steven (Rozanna) Merritt, daughter Cyndi (Bruce) Martinson and two step children David and Candy. Also survived are 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Anyone wishing to donate please do so to Franciscan Hospice. Our family could not have done this without them. Our heartfelt thanks to Gina, Summerlove and Diane. Finally free of pain you will never be forgotten. Mitchell Oleck 12/8/1917 – 1/11/2011 Mitch Oleck was born in Chicago, IL, and passed away peacefully in Tacoma, WA on 1/11/2011. He obtained his degree from Northwestern University, and served honorably as a Captain in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired after many years of service with the IRS. He is survived by his devoted sister, Apolonia Andre, and his nephews Robert and Richard and nieces Charmaine and Marilyn. A private family service is planned. Judd Sewell

Judd Christopher Sewell passed away much too soon on January 13, 2011 from a sudden illness and has joined his Grandpa in Heaven. He was born on March 8th, 1982 in Olympia, WA and spent most of his childhood and adult life in the Puyallup-Tacoma area. Judd graduated from Puyallup High School in 2000 and from The Art Institute of Seattle in 2009. He was employed with AT&T Wireless in Seattle. Judd left behind his parents, Chris and Linda Sewell of Olympia, WA, his wife of 6 months, Jessica Hope Armstrong Sewell, grandmother Genevieve McCutcheon, grandparents Bob and Helen Sewell, aunts and uncle Gary and Sue McCutcheon, Debbie Walsh, cousins Ben and Alena Dicke, Matt and Mary Dicke, Vince and Erin Conley, Rich and Kirstin Lillie, Kyle McCutcheon, father- and mother-in-law David and Peggy Armstrong, brother-in-law Erich Armstrong, sister-in-law Chelsey Armstrong, and many other special family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James E McCutcheon. Judd was a generous friend, talented musician and loving son and husband. He was looking forward to his life with Jessica and having a houseful of children. He is looking down from Heaven now, watching over his houseful of animals including Iggy, Bella, Liela, Mo, Bernie and Jack. A celebration of Judd’s unique life will be held at the Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club on Sunday January 23, 2011 at 4 pm.
