That list is really antiquated! How about things for a baby in the 21st century! Diapers, warm clothes, formula, who needs petroleum jelly, key rings, rubber duckies, piggy bank (?). What you are doing is a wonderful thing, and I intend to drop some things off, but these things seem like things for a baby born in 1950!

Please clarify also whether all items must be brand new, or whether barely-worn but previously-owned infant clothing, carefully chosen from consignment shops, would be welcome. Diaper pail? I was a cloth diaper holdout in 1972, but they’re extremely rare these days. Piggbank? Not a necessity, unless meant as a not-too-subtle message to the parents to save for their child’s future.

@Marsha – Diapers, warm clothes, and formula are all welcome. Also any other items that you feel a baby would need. This list was provided to us (UPFD & LFD) by the organization hosting the event. Thank you for your donation to this cause.

@Mary – Clothing items in the condition you have described are welcomed. Also other items not on the list that you feel are appropriate for Operation Baby Shower.
    Thank you.
