Sue Davidson passed away at St. Joseph’s, December 21, after a 3-year battle with cancer. Susanne Louise McGuire was born on July 8, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Louis and Anne McGuire. Survivors include husband Robert (Milt) Davidson of Steilacoom; daughters DeAnne Davidson-Kuyper (Rich) of Lakewood, Kathy Gatti (John) of Bath, Maine, Linda Spurling (Dave) of Lakewood; and sister, Jeanette McGuire Bugg (Gary) and nieces Lisa Fulbright and Michelle Pitman of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Samantha and Julianne Wlazlak and Steve Spurling. Sue’s family moved to Seattle in 1943 where she attended Roosevelt High School. and Seattle University. She and Milt were married in Seattle in 1957, then spent six months in Packwood while Milt was with the U.S. Forest Service. They later moved to Seattle where Sue became a Paraprofessional with the Shoreline School Dist. Upon retirement, they moved to Steilacoom and lived in the Davidson family home. Her sense of humor was well known and prevailed to the very end. Sue was involved in many Steilacoom activities: the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association, Steilacoom Garden Club, Questers–Chloe Clark Chapter, NAWCC Clock Club–Chapter 135, as well as serving on the Steilacoom Park Board. Sue’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Oberlin Congregational Church on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at 1pm. Maj. (Ret) Edward Charles Budack, Jr. Ed, age 85 passed away peacefully January 6, 2011, surrounded by his loving wife Anita, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born on September 2, 1925 in Wapato, North Dakota, he was preceded in death by his sister Alice and son Bruce (Robin). With Anita, the love of his life, they enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and fishing trips in the old “Winnie” with family, friends & their dogs Bennie & Charlie. He is survived by a large family: brother John (Alice), sister Mary, daughter Jennifer (Ben), sons Edward III (Rose), Robert, stepson Robin (Joyce), grandchildren Charlet (Dave), Sherry (Clint), Paul (Amy), Edward IV (Sally), John, Robert, Nelson (Karla) and Patricia, also many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. During his distinguished career in the military, Ed saw action in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam, retiring in 1969. Earning many awards and ribbons during tours in the Navy, National Guard and the Army, including the Bronze Star in 1966. Starting a new career in 1975 working for the WSLCB, he retired as the manager of the Fircrest Liquor Store. Graveside services, military honors and interment will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park at 1:30 on January 15, 2011. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Sharon Ann (Harper) Dube Sunrise 4/14/68 Sunset 12/20/10, with her loving family by her side. Sharon had a beautiful smile, adventurous spirit and was loved by all. She fought a 6 year battle with breast cancer. Survived by husband Leroy; daughter’s Laura, Annemarie, Stacy, and April; son’s Benjamin and Jacob; granddaughter Savanah; mother Margaret (Byron); father Charles (Bobbie); brother Chuck; her wonderful Aunt Arlene and best friend Michelle; and extended family. Jennifer Lea Haskins HOME PAIN FREE After suffering long, painful complications from an automobile accident, Jennifer Lea Haskins died at home on January 4, 2011. Jennifer, the only child of Lee and Margaret Haskins,was born on August 30, 1973 in Tacoma, WA. She graduated from Stadium High School and earned an Early Childhood Degree from Bates Technical College. Jennifer operated an in-home daycare for 8 years as well as teaching preschool. She was Past Worthy Advisor in Warren Assembly, Order of Rainbow and president of Preceptor Alpha Upsilon, Beta Sigma Phi. Jennifer loved her Lord and Savior, children, teaching, music, dancing, animals, and surfing the web. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Lee, and is greatly missed by her cherished son Brenden, and her mother Margaret. She also leaves behind an aunt, uncle, cousins, many family friends, and sorority sisters. A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held on January 15, 2011 at 2:00pm at Grace Place Church on the corner of S. 38th and South Tacoma Way in Tacoma, WA.
