Lakewood, Wash. – The 7th annual Helmets vs. Shields charity basketball game is scheduled for Saturday, April 16th at Pierce College at 6:00 p.m. Come out and watch the firefighters and police officers battle on the court to raise money for charity. Prior to this year’s game will be the first annual Helmets vs. Shields Youth Basketball Skills Clinic, which will be held at Pierce from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Campers will learn fundamental skills, drills and life skills that they can use on and off the court. Coached by your local firefighters and police officers and Pierce College coaches and players, this should be a great event for all. Boys and girls ages 7-12 are welcome for just $30 per camper, if registered prior to March 31st. Registration information and forms are available at www.lakewoodcharitybasketball.org.
Tickets for the game will be available at the door for $5.00 each. Children age five and under are free. All of the proceeds go to the Life Safety Charity Fund and the Lakewood Officers’ Charity’s Make a Difference Fund.
A silent auction and raffle will be held at the game. All of the items have been donated by local businesses. The silent auction will begin at 5:45 p.m. and raffle tickets will be sold at the game. Raffle tickets will be $1 each, $5 for 10, $10 for 12, or $20 for 30.
