Lakewood, Wash. – At approximately 11:20 a.m., the Lakewood Police Department were in pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle when it crashed at the 3900 block of 100th Street SW. The car hit a tree at such speed, it split the car in half. (KOMO News is reporting the driver allegedly carjacked the vehicle at knife point. They also have more photos.)
The driver of the vehicle was extricated by Lakewood Firefighters and was taken to the hospital with no life-threatening injuries. The Lakewood Police Department is handling any further investigation of the incident. See more photos below.
