I have been voting for the local Habitat for Humanity project daily for awhile, and I notice that the Columbus project is gaining ground, which leads me to suspect they are putting on a final push for their project down the home stretch, until January 31, to beat us to the finish line. This causes me to write my very first letter to The Suburban Times to encourage more people in this area to continue to vote everyday for the local HFH project. After almost 23000 votes already, we really do not want to lose the potential prize. Thanks.
Editor’s Note: At 4:20 PM on December 28 Tacoma-Pierce County leads Greater Columbus by 114 votes in the $25,000 AHS Challenge for Change. Vote every day through January 31 to help our friends in Tillicum.

Thank you Russ for writing and for voting! I just this morning heard from relatives in Texas and Georgia that they’re on board! Ohio is indeed hanging around. On this 75th day of the 105-day contest, Tillicum has led the country 68 of those days. But in the last two weeks our lead averages 162 (as of basically 5 p.m. each day). The danger of course is that Ohio has proven it can get out the vote, a whopping 762 votes on December 20th alone. As a friend of mine wrote, and I’m hoping he’s wrong, this could come down to the last vote on the last day at the last hour which is midnight, January 31, 2011.
Unless of course we take care of business now.
