Three men missing since Sunday

December 16, 2010 By Ben Sclair

Lakewood Police detectives are investigating the disappearance of three friends who all live in Pierce County. Jesus Avila lives in Lakewood, Yazmany Ortiz lives in Tacoma, and Christian Rangel lives in University Place. The three males are listed below:

Avila

Jesus Bejar Avila
08-11-85 / 5’3” 135 Brown Eyes – Black Hair

Ortiz

Yazmany Quezada Ortiz
01-03-85 / 5’5” 210 Brown Eyes – Black Hair

Rangel

Christian Alberto Rangel
10-30-91 / 5’6” 180 Brown Eyes – Black Hair

The three friends work together at the Lake Union Wholesale Florist located in the 400 block of Boren Avenue North in Seattle.  They all carpooled to work together on Sunday, December 12th, 2010 and successfully made it to their worksite.  The three got off work at approximately 3:15 PM and left together in a silver 2007 Chevrolet Silverado quad cab belonging to Ortiz.

Their families have not seen or heard from any of them since they left for work.  They were reported missing on 12/13/10 by family members.  The vehicle they were driving that day was recovered abandoned in an apartment complex in the 6200 block of James St in Kent on December 14th and they were seen briefly at the complex.

It is out of the ordinary for them to not have contact with their families and their disappearance is suspicious. Detectives want to speak to anyone who may have information about their disappearance. Please call 253-830-5000.

This is all we are willing to release at this time. Larger photos are attached.

Please contact Lt. Chris Lawler for additional information.
