Lakewood Officers’ Charity 3rd Annual Holiday Meal Program

December 14, 2010 By Ben Sclair

FoodDonations The Lakewood Officers’ Charity will be providing a holiday meal consisting of a full turkey, ham, bag of potatoes, canned vegetables, and sides to over 150 families in Lakewood for the holidays this year. Once again, these families were identified through counselors in the Clover Park School District and the entire program spearheaded by Ofc. Ryan Moody.

This is the third year that the charity has coordinated this event. We feel it is important to help struggling families in our community receive a wholesome meal for the Holidays and beyond. In this difficult economy, many families are reaching out more often to local food banks just to put food on the table. Lakewood Police Officers want to do their part in helping give these families a bright Holiday Season. These meals will be distributed by Officers before the school district’s Winter Break.

The Officers’ Charity is also coordinating our Shop with an Officer and Old Country Christmas events to distribute toys, gifts, and food to struggling families. All told, Lakewood Police Officers, through their Lakewood Officers’ Charity, are helping support almost 200 families this Holiday Season.

Anyone interested in more information about our charity or wishing to donate towards any of our charitable events, can do so on our website.
