By Mike Darrah, Event Chair, Relay For Life of Lakewood
Relay For Life of Lakewood is off and running for the 2011 Relay event scheduled for June 3-4, 2011 at the Harry E. Lang Stadium and your participation is needed.
As of today we have 28 teams already registered to help fight back against cancer. And you too can also become a part of this worldwide fundraising family as we raise money for the American Cancer Society in support of research, patient services, education and advocacy.
Cancer touches most of us in one way or another. You are a survivor, or your spouse has cancer. Your son or daughter has cancer. A loved one or a friend has cancer. A business associate has cancer. The list is endless. But you can help fight back by joining us today as we support our survivors and caregivers, showering them with love and understanding. Join us with your own team, or join an existing team, but do it today.
Join your Lakewood Relay at www.lakewoodrelay.org and help us celebrate with our survivors, remember those less fortunate and fight back against this dreaded disease.
I want to share with you what cancer cannot do: It cannot invade the soul, suppress memories, kill friendship, destroy peace, conquer the spirit, shatter hope, cripple love, corrode faith, steal eternal life, silence courage. There is hope and with your help we will win.
Come visit with our teams at our next Relay Rally on January 18, 2011, 6:30-7:30 PM at Little Church on the Prairie, 6310 Motor Ave SW, Lakewood. Contact Cynthia or Kathy at email@example.com or Alecia at firstname.lastname@example.org
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each of you and remember, cancer is not a choice, but your volunteering and help is.
