Turkey, stuffing, vegetables and fruit, bread, eggs and all of the trimmings were packed into baskets and distributed to 273 district families to provide a Thanksgiving meal. The items, donated by Little Church on the Prairie, were packaged by school district staff and distributed to needy families who were identified by school counselors.
“Words cannot express how grateful we are to the Board of Deacons at Little Church on the Prairie who makes this possible every year,” said Ed Judie, director of student services for Clover Park School District. “Their continued generosity helps to ensure that our students enjoyed their holiday with a warm meal while knowing that their community cares about them.”
This is the 45th year that Little Church has provided Thanksgiving baskets to the district. The Lakewood Christian Center also donated 45 Thanksgiving baskets.
Baskets were distributed by counselors the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
