Planning Advisory Board vacancy

The City of Lakewood is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy on the Planning Advisory Board.

DESCRIPTION: The Planning Advisory Board shall assist City staff in preparing a comprehensive plan; provide recommendations to the City Council on land use and zoning regulations and other development regulations; act as the research and fact finding agency of the City in regard to land uses, housing, capital facilities, utilities, transportation and classifications of lands as agriculture, forest, mineral lands, critical areas, wetlands and geologically hazardous areas; and provide an annual progress report to the City Council.

QUALIFICATIONS: Members shall be residents of the city and shall serve without compensation.

COMPENSATION: None.

MEMBERSHIP: Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

TERMS OF OFFICE: 5 year term through February 11, 2016.

ATTENDANCE: Individuals appointed are expected to attend meetings regularly. The Council expects to be informed in the event any Committee, Board or Commission member has three unexcused absences. The Council, may in the event of three unexcused absences, dismiss the individual from service.

EXPECTATIONS: Adhere to City of Lakewood’s Code of Ethics, regular attendance at meetings, mutual respect among members, good listener, and flexible
