The University Place Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on November 26th just after 10 am at the Hidden Hills Apartments located at the 3300 block of Morrison Drive. Six units responded to the scene including two fire engines, two fire trucks, and two medic units. Lakewood Fire Department responded with mutual aid to assist.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a second-story unit fully involved with fire coming out the front window. Firefighters extinguished the fire and cut holes in the roof for ventilation. They contained the fire damage to the one unit. The unit below received some water damage and two other units received smoke and heat damage. The fire was reported as out at 10:46 am.

The unit was not occupied at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The fire was suspicious in nature and is being investigated by the Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department University Place Fire Department.
