Lakewood — The Tacoma Corvette Club helped to make Glenda Smith’s 75th birthday very memorable. Smith, who is currently battling cancer, has been a long-time fan of the fancy cars. Through the coordination of Loujanna Rohrer, a member of the St. Mary’s MOPS group to which Smith is a mentor, Mary Nye Meyers of the Tacoma Corvette Club and Smith’s daughter, Terrye, a very special day was planned. As Smith exited The Church at Lakewood service on Sunday, she was met with a long line of 23 beautiful, shiny Corvettes. Smith got to choose which car she would ride in to the Tacoma waterfront RAM Restaurant. As she eyed the shiny red corvette in front of her, she said, “Well, I’m going to have to go with the convertible!”. The other Corvette drivers gave rides to family members and friends as they all convoyed to the restaurant for a celebratory lunch.
