A truck bearing the logo: John Korsmo Construction, was on site Friday morning at the Steilacoom Historical Museum on Rainier Street, to repair the previous Friday’s accidental damage to the patio/covered entry to the local museum.
Korsmo Construction has had a long association with the Museum. In the mid-90s Korsmo Construction oversaw the very technical relocation of the Orr Home, moving the 1857 structure off its temporary foundation until a permanent foundation could be placed beneath the historic home. Once that was completed they repositioned the house to its new foundation.
While Korsmo Construction, originally located in Lakewood and now based in downtown Tacoma has handled many construction projects around the county, between 2006-08 Korsmo was part of the renovation/restoration project at Mt. Rainier National Park’s Paradise Lodge and also partner in the construction of the new Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center, also at Paradise.
Scott Ramsey says
All of us at Korsmo COnstruction are proud of our association with the Orr Home. We’re sorry to hear of the recent damage, but we’re ready to assist with returning the house to it’s place in the Steilacoom community.
