Obituary Notice

November 5, 2010 By Ben Sclair

Theresa BergerTheresa Berger. An amazing and dedicated wife, mother, teacher and friend, Theresa passed away early Tuesday morning, November 2, 2010 at the Franciscan Hospice House. Theresa was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 8, 1961. A 2003 breast cancer survivor and a true fighter in her most recent battle with cancer, she was an inspiration to the entire community and anyone who knew her. Theresa attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Reading. She was passionate about her career in the U.P. School District and considered it a real honor to serve the community as a Reading Specialist. Theresa worked full time until just two weeks ago. When she wasn’t teaching, she was walking the Chamber’s Bay Trail, skiing at White Pass, and spending time with family and friends. Theresa was her twin daughter’s #1 fan at Curtis swim meets and water polo games. Her greatest joy was found in caring for and helping others. Theresa is survived by her husband of over 20 years, Bradley A. Berger, their twin daughters, Molly and Sarah, her mother Barbara Buckley, sister Maureen Jefferson, and brothers Patrick, Christopher, and Kevin Buckley all from Wisconsin. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, November 8th 2010, 4 p.m. at the University Place Presbyterian Church. Reception to follow. Donations in her memory may be made to the University Place Library Campaign.
