Bailey Ruben

SSG Ruben Bailey, Sr. Born July 4, 1927 in England, Arkansas passed away in the loving arms of Jesus Christ on October 27, 2010 in Tacoma, WA. He is preceded in death by J.C. Bailey (father), Bessaline Bailey (mother) and Tequila Mae Banks (daughter). Ruben was married to his lovely and beautiful wife, Josephine Bailey of Lawton, Oklahoma for 57 years. To this union they had 12 children 3 sons and 9 daughters, Ruben Jr., Ronald, Barry (Kathleen), Jessie Mae, Mable, Corlin, Gwen, Barbara (Leo Sr.), Teresa (Joe), Terrie, and Celestine; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and New York. At the early age of 16, Ruben enlisted into the Navy, and then enlisted for 4 years in the Air Force before finally enlisting in the Army and retiring after 20 years of service. After retiring from the military, Bailey held numerous jobs in the Tacoma area, such as Weyerhaeuser, Tacoma Police Department, Tacoma School District 10 and Tacoma Mall Security. During those times Ruben accomplished in completing his Associates Degree at Tacoma Community College and Bachelors of Science at Central Washington University. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 6th at 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1121 South I Street, Tacoma, WA 98405. All flowers to be sent to the church in courtesy of the Bailey family. Viewing will take place at Mountain View Funeral Home Friday, November 5th, 2pm to 9pm. We like to thank our daughter, sister and aunt, Gwendolyn for all of her help with our Poppa Bailey. Granberry Elijah

Elijah Josephus (Joe) Granberry Of Tacoma, WA, passed on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Joe was born on March 4th, 1935 in Marianna, FL. He worked as a cell operator for 30 years and retired at Elf Atochem North America of Tacoma in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mearlyn, a son, Addison, and two granddaughters, Adaiya and Violet, all of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by two brothers, Aaron Granberry III (Marianna, FL) and John Howard Granberry (Tacoma, WA), a sister, Delores Granberry (Plant City, FL), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 6th, 2010 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. The reception will take place in the Oak Room at the Celebration of Life Center following the service. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home 253-584-0252.
