Lakewood, Wash. – On Saturday, October 23, 2010, Lakewood Fire Station 21 was crowded with people looking for a day of fun, information, and of course, pumpkins. Lakewood Fire District 2 hosted the 14th annual Safety Pumpkin Patch event, which featured games, a temporary tattoo station, free car seat inspections, pumpkin painting, safety information, and much more.
Lakewood Fire would like to extend a big thank you to all of their partners, including the Lakewood Police Department, the Lakewood CERT team, Bates Technical College, Pierce County Child Passenger Safety Team, Pierce County Department of Emergency Management, the City of Lakewood and the YMCA.
More than 750 pumpkins were given away at the event in less than two hours. Albertson’s generously donated 500 small pumpkins that were used to paint. Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the day, donors, and vendors.
