Public Safety Director:
The Mayor appointed Ron Schaub of the Pierce County Sheriff’s office as the Public Safety Direct. Ron started October 18th (Monday).
Martin Street Culvert:
The fencing is scheduled to be installed on Monday. As a reminder, the center yellow-line is temporary tape. This Spring, it will be replaced with painted stripes consistent with the adjacent roadway. Tape was used at this time due to the weather conditions.
The crew spent the week street sweeping and blowing leaves.
The crew installed conduit for a new line in the alley north of Adams Street; and in the 1200 block of Union Avenue. Wire is scheduled to be pulled next week.
The BPA Electrical Distribution Substation Assessment report was distributed last week. The consultants are scheduled to make their presentation at the November 2, 2010 Council meeting.
The crew spent the week performing system maintenance and assisting the electric crew.
Buildings and Grounds:
The crew continued winterizing the sprinkler systems and water fountains, mowing the parks, and started collecting Fall leaves. We anticipate they will continue winterizing, mowing, and leaf collecting at least through the end of the month.
The crew was also the primary staff support for Make a Difference Day.
