Gary Barcus Garys, 71, of Tacoma, passed away October 5, 2010 at his home. He was born in Lincoln Nebraska, October 18, 1938. Gary worked for Crowley Maritime for 35 plus years. He is survived by his wife Berna (Babe), daughter Ann, son Glen, four grandchildren and two brothers, William and Richard. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday October 14 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home 253-584-0252. Hazel Irene Bird, 85, passed on October 10, 2010 in Duncan, Arizona, after a long illness. She was a long time resident of Parkland, Washington having moved to Arizona in 2008 to be with her daughter. She was born in Cloverdale, BC, Canada on August 2, 1925. At eighteen she joined the CWAC (Canadian Women’s Army Corp) where she met the love of her life, Ivory J. Bird and they married in 1947. She was an avid golfer and also loved to work in her yard. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Farrington of AZ; grandsons, Eric Bird of Tacoma, Anthony Bird of Seattle, and Chris Farrington of AZ; daughter-in-law, Heromi Bird of Tacoma; brother, David A. Pease, of Hope, BC, Canada, sister-in-law, Karen Bird of FL and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivory J. Bird; son, Bruce P. Bird, parents, Earl and Valerie Pease. Services will be Saturday October 16th at the Latter Day Saints Parkland Ward at 2 PM, with burial in Mountain View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. Vivian M. Martin, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on October 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Howard C. Martin. She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Karen), 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 brothers. Memorial service will be October 15, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home 253-584-0252. Pendleton Kirk

Kirk Allen Pendleton went to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct. 6, 2010. Born on March 19, 1949, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years Lori, his son Kelly with his wife Janet, his daughter Jennifer with her husband Riley and his five grandchildren Colton, Alyssia, Marcus, Kaylie and Hunter. He is also survived by his four brothers Woody, John, Tony and Doug as well as many other family members and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Oct. 16th, 2010 at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Valley Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA.
