Neary-Sighted: Budget Discussions, including option of raising taxes, under way

    Get out a calculator Walter! We reduced personnel by 19 (nearly 10% of the 200+ employees) and the budget remained flat (actually increases for 2012)? To me that is a 10% increase in the budget relative to personnel and the services they provide. Another case of “smoke and mirrors”? I expect a corresponding reduction in the budget (since salaries and benefits are about 70% of budget) when personnel are cut: not a continuation of previous inflated budgets.

    Start over!and give us some real change…we can believe in.
