Schmidt Betty

Betty Schmidt passed peacefully on October 5, 2010 at age 78. She was born in Hagerville, Arkansas and has lived in Tacoma for 41 years. Betty is a retired laundry worker from Overall Laundry. She is survived by her son Keith, of Lakewood; daughter Tamera (Brad) Byerly, of Belfair; grandson Joshua Byerly, of Union and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ervin of 50 years; her brothers Edgar Campbell, Eldon Campbell, Clyde Campbell, Claude Campbell, Hoyt Campbell, and Amanda Wilson, her parents Grover and Etta Campbell. All those who knew Betty are invited to a viewing Friday, Oct. 8, 10-8pm; a memorial service will be held in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Saturday, Oct. 9, 10am., followed by a graveside ceremony and reception. Schorer Joann

Joann Louise Schorer was born January 21, 1925 in Muscatine, IA, and passed away September 28, 2010 in University Place, WA. Joann grew up in Wolf Point, MT and moved to Tacoma in 1943. Joann was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Ruth Harris, husband Clarence, and sisters Fryne Kelly and Thyra Marsch. She is survived by her sister Lenore Hart of Dillon, MT, sons and daughter-in-law Steven of Moyie Springs, ID, Michael of Fort Mojave, AZ, David and Darren (Marsha) of Tacoma, and daughter Elaine Flanigan of Lexington Park, MD. She has 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs at St. Clare’s hospital and the Franciscan Hospice House for making her last weeks comfortable. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 140 E. 56th St., Tacoma, WA on Tuesday, October 12th at 1 pm. Donations only to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Foundation of America. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home 253-584-0252.
