The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

- October 14, 2010 – New Federal Healthcare Plan – Its Benefits and Costs – AWB and Pro and Con Speakers (Kris Kauffman – MC)
- October 21, 2010 – “Washington Rocks: A Story about A Little-Known yet Highly Beneficial State Resource” – Pete Stoltz, CalPortland, Permitting and Government Affairs Manager (Mary Ann Miller – MC)
- October 28, 2010 – “High Speed Rail Coming to Lakewood” – Engaging the community about the Point Defiance Bypass project – WSDOT High Speed Rail Program Manager, Ron Pate and Program Delivery Manager, David Smelser (Ernie Heller – MC)
The dues for our fiscal year, which started on July 1, 2010, are $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast. You can pay your dues by mail to: Lakewood United, P.O. Box 99785, Lakewood, WA 98496 or directly to our Treasurer, Sue Boguszewski, if she is present at the weekly Thursday morning events.
