Jazz guitarist to perform in Lakewood

October 5, 2010 By Ben Sclair

Jazz guitarist Ed Taylor will perform at the TACID (Tacoma Area Coalition for Individuals with Disabilities) Progress, Partnership & Pride breakfast Oct. 13, at the Old Country Buffet in the Lakewood Towne Center. The 7 am event will mark the first event TACID has held in Lakewood. The event is part of the celebration of TACID in its 30th year of operation.

Taylor will welcome guests to the event with his own musical compositions and then during the breakfast he will entertain with B.B. King’s “The Thrill is Gone”, in honor of guest speaker “Little Bill” Englehart. The keynote speaker has performed with B.B. King during his many years as a rock and roll/blues musician and Northwest legend. Little Bill began playing guitar at the age of 10 after suffering from polio.

The breakfast fun will also include comedian and Washington State Representive Denny Flannigan, who will perform a stand-up routine.
Retiring TACID Executive Director Chris Ensor will recount a pair of success stories of Lakewood residents. Everyone is welcome. For more information contact TACID at 253-565-9000. Call by October 5th for special accommodations.
