The Tacoma-Pierce County Chapter of the League of Women Voters will host and moderate a Legislative District 28 Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at University Place City Hall, 3715 Bridgeport Way West, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Legislative District 28 is represented by two positions: Incumbent Troy Kelley and Steve O’Ban are vying for Position 1 while incumbent Tami Green and Paul Wagemann are seeking Position 2. The forum is scheduled to last for approximately one and a half hours.
Citizens are encouraged to attend and provide their questions during the forum to the League of Women Voters, who will be moderating the evening’s event. Candidates will also present opening and closing statements as well as answer a few questions specific to University Place.
This forum will be taped for University Place Television (UPTV) so that citizens who are not able to attend have an opportunity to watch it later. Once the public forum is on-air, viewing times will be posted on the City’s website at www.CityofUP.com. UPTV is available for viewing within the City of University Place city limits on Click! Channel 12 and Comcast Channel 21.
The date for the General Election is Nov. 2, 2010. New voters can register in person through Monday, Oct. 25 at the Pierce County Election Center, 2501 S. 35th St., Suite C.
