U.P. City Council meeting agenda, October 4

The University Place City Council will hold a regular council meeting on Monday, October 4, 2010, 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room (3715 Bridgeport Way West). Following is the agenda:

6:30 pm 1. CALL REGULAR MEETING TO ORDER – MAYOR

2. ROLL CALL AND FLAG SALUTE

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – September 13, 2010, September 20, 2010, September 21, 2010, and September 27, 2010

4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

6:35 pm 5. PRESENTATION

? City Manager’s 2011-2012 Budget Message

7:15 pm 6. PUBLIC COMMENTS – (At this time, citizens will be given an opportunity to address the Council on any subject not scheduled for a Public Hearing or Council consideration. Comments or testimony related to a scheduled Public Hearing or Council consideration should be held until the Mayor calls for citizen comments during that time. Public comments are limited to three minutes. Please provide your name and address for the record.)

7:25 pm 7A-7C. CONSENT AGENDA

Motion: Approve or Amend the Consent Agenda as Proposed

CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL OF BILLS/PAYROLL

The Consent Agenda consists of items considered routine or have been previously studied and discussed by Council and for which staff recommendation has been prepared. A Councilmember may request that an item be removed from the Consent Agenda so that the Council may consider the item separately. Items on the Consent Agenda are voted upon as one block and approved with one vote.
A. Approval of Claims and Payroll
B. Accept the Curran House Investigating & Planning Study (CHIPS) Group as an Official Friend of the City.
C. Authorize an Increase to the Professional Services Agreement for Ogden, Murphy, Wallace in the Amount of $10,000 in Order to Complete the Litigation Related to Tacoma Public Utilities’ Charges for Fire Hydrants; Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Third Amendment to the Professional Service Agreement with Ogden, Murphy, Wallace to Increase the Total Compensation to $50,000

RECESS TO STUDY SESSION – (At this time, Council will have the opportunity to study and discuss business issues with staff prior to its consideration.)

EXECUTIVE SESSION – (CLOSED SESSION – At this time of the Agenda, the City Council will adjourn to Executive Session for approximately one hour, per RCW 42.30.110, to consider the sale of real estate by lease or purchase. Any action on this issue will only be taken during Council Open Session.)

10:00 pm 12. ADJOURNMENT
