Fae Crabill, newly elected president of Lakewood First Lions, was honored during the Lakewood Rotary Club’s annual installation gathering at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. She received the Bernie Ootkin Humanitarian Award presented by the Rotary Club annually to a non-Rotarian. Crabill won the award for her extensive community service over numerous years. She was joined at the event by her husband Tom as well s a number of other Lions’ Club members.
Dave Covey (right) was recognized by incoming Lakewood Rotary President Mick Johnson as Rotarian of the Year. The award was presented by Johnson during the club’s annual installation banquet June 26 at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. The Rotarian of the Year is selected from club member nominations for an individual who exemplifies the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.
