HickmanJasonJason Omar Bradley Hickman 2-5-1974 to 1-7-2010 Was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN, where he grew up. He joined the Army in April 1999, and was trained to become a combat engineer. He was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Sheboygan, Wisconsin (Recruiting Command); and then was assigned to Fort Richardson, Alaska. He served in the Army for the last 10 years and had completed one tour in Iraq and was currently serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) when he left to be with our Lord and Savior. While station at Ft. Lewis he met his wife Tiffany Burke and was married in April 2002. Jason and Tiffany were married for 7 loving years. Jason loved camping, hiking, and fishing, and teaching his 3 boys things about the outdoors. Jason was a family man, he was a wonderful husband, outstanding father, and a loving son. Jason leaves behind his wife Tiffany, 3 sons, Hayden 6, Landon 5, and Clayton 2. He also leaves behind many family members, including his parents JD and Judy Hickman of Kingsport, Tn, 1 nephew, and 1 niece. He will be greatly missed by all who have known him. There will be a viewing on Friday, January 29 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at the Ft. Lewis main post chapel. His final resting place will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, where he will have a continuous view of Mt. Rainer which he loved. A memorial fund will be set up at Wells Fargo for his wife Tiffany and his 3 beloved sons. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 253-584-0252. Mary Krogstad was born March 23, 1920 in Berthold, North Dakota, and passed away January 18, 2010 in Minot, North Dakota. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 29, 2010 in Mountain View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252. StromElnaElna Palma Strom 1919-2010 Elna passed away 1/27/10 after a long struggle. She would have been 91 in May. She was born in Valderoy, Norway and came to America in 1926 at the age of 7. She was proud to become an American Citizen and she worked as a bookkeeper at her dad’s boatbuilding company Marine View Boat for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed an active life especially golfing and bowling with her many friends and after retirement traveling extensively with dad, Stanley O. Strom, who passed away in 1993. She was active in church, Gloria Dei Lutheran, and never missed a Sunday until she was unable to travel. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Hansina Petersen, brothers Elias and Carsten, sister Clara. She is survived by her children, Gregg (Cathi), Judy (Bill), grandkids Ryan (Amy), Scott (Brenda), Sabrina, Samantha (Jarrod), Susanna (Zerek), and one great grandchild Adah. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Vi Petersen, Irma Strom and Joanne Petersen and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Saturday January 30, 200 at Mountain View Funeral Home at 10 am with a reception following at the Willow Room in the Celebration of Life Building. We are very grateful to the excellent care she received at Flora Vista Care Facility with Claudia Kolano and her excellent staff and the wonderful folks at Hospice.
