This month, with heavy snows in the mid-west, earthquakes in Haiti and flooding in California, we’ve all seen how quickly an emergency situation can occur and how critical it is to be prepared. The City of Lakewood has been developing its Emergency Sheltering Program for over two years and is offering a free training session on Saturday, January 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Lakewood City Hall. If you have participated in previous trainings, this is an opportunity for you to be reminded of the role you could play in an emergency situation; for others, who may be new to the program, you, too, and will learn how you can help our community during a crisis. We will welcome all of you. Refreshments will be served so please RSVP.
Please share this information with others you think might be interested in participating. We are hoping to expand our program and increase the number of trained volunteers available to support our emergency shelter program. If you are interested in learning more about the City’s emergency sheltering program, please join us on Saturday, January 30th at 10:00 am in Lakewood City Hall. If you plan to attend, please let us know – you may e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 253-983-7758. Thank you – we hope to see you at the training.Print This Post
