Roy Brooks named bank director

January 24, 2010 By Ben Sclair

Roy T. Brooks of Enumclaw has been elected to the board of directors of Lakewood’s Northwest Commercial Bank, according to Kurt Graff, president and CEO. With a strong background in banking and business management, Graff said the new board member will be a strong addition to the board of the growing bank.

Brooks was among the group that formed Mt. Rainier National Bank in 1988 and served as chairman of the board until the firm was sold in 2007. In addition he temporarily filled the position of president and CEO until a new president was recruited. When the concern formed Mountain Bank Holding Co., Brooks served as chairman, president and CEO and also chairman of the bank board.

The longtime Enumclaw resident spent over 20 years with a large electronics firm, working extensively with the US Navy and The Boeing Company. In 1989 he and a partner founded Westmark Electronics, focused on leading edge electronic applications for the military, aerospace, computer hardware and cellular communications industry. The firm was sold in 2000.

Today, Brooks is active as chairman for Enumclaw Regional Hospital, vice chair for Franciscan Health System, chair for Emerald Home Furnishings and has an active management consulting business.

Northwest Commercial Bank, located at 5726 100th Street SW in Lakewood, also operates a branch in Auburn, a loan production office in Puyallup and a mortgage banking division, Northwest Mortgage Capital Group. The bank, which opened in 2002, offers full bank services to individuals and businesses.
