Bernice B. Driver A Tacoma resident passed away January 13, 2010. She was born in Flynn, Texas on June 21 1924. She is survived by her brother, Jim O. Reed of Spanaway, WA and sister Josie Gardner of Oxnard, CA. Bernice was loved by many and will be missed. Funeral service Fri., Jan 22nd, 1pm, in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View. HokensonRobertRobert Andrew Hokenson Passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in his lifelong home of Tacoma, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents Roger and Birdie, sisters Mary, Ida and Viola, brother Paul and son-in-law Ed Loughrey. Born on July 27, 1922, Robert attended Lincoln High School where he met the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Virginia Stark. During their earlier years of marriage, Robert served his country in the Navy. When he returned from World War II, Robert became a member of the Tacoma Fire Department. For 26 years he served his community, retiring as Lieutenant of the Tacoma Fireboat in 1973. Once retired, Robert enjoyed two of his great passions — gardening and woodworking. With a world class sense of humor, he could bring a room to tears with his stories and jokes. Family is what made Robert most happy. No man spent as much time caring for his family. Robert is survived by his loving wife Virginia, daughters Susan Loughrey and Wendy Winger (Mike), grandchildren Andy (Megan), Amy (Chris) and Bryan and great-grandchildren Emma, Ainsley, Mason and Kate. Robert also leaves behind his brother Peter, sister Ann and many nieces and nephews he loved very much. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood on Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing is also scheduled at Mountain View on Friday, January 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 253-584-0252. Laurie A (Young) Landgrebe born 12/23/48 wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend passed away January 15, 2010. Survived by husband Ted, siblings Lawrence and Darlene; children: Ted, Billie, Lisa, Ken, grandchildren: Melodie, Matt, Josh, Chris, Beth, Maggie, Brenden, numerous nieces, nephews. ReedFrankFrank Donald Reed 3/28/1934 – 1/8/2010 Don was born to Frank and Marjorie Reed in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and was the oldest of 13 children. He lived most of his life in the Tacoma area. Don retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1987, where he worked as an engineer in the Planning Department. He also founded Reed Graphics along with Barb, his wife of 45 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to lend a helping hand, and easy smile. Don married Luisita Montero in 1999. They moved full-time to her beautiful native country of Costa Rica in 2005, where he enjoyed soaking up the sun and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Luisita, his four children, Dale (Jeanine), Rick (Yvonne), Teresa (Russ), Don, ten grandchildren, and ten of his siblings. A celebration of his life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Celebration of Life Chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 PMEwith a viewing from 1:00 to 1:45PM. ZimmerMarciaJMarcia Jane Zimmer Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie & friend has left this earthly life on Saturday January 16, 2010. Born April 4, 1927 in Hoodsport, Wa. Her grandmother Ida Robbins Finch was one of the first pioneer families to settle in Hoodsport in 1878. Marcia was called Jane by all who knew her. Her first job was working with her mother Hazel, as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone, out of their home. She married the love of her life Cecil M. Zimmer on August 9th, 1946. When he came home from World War II they lived in Lakewood where they raised their five children. Jane worked part time at the B&I Pet Shop and Zoo where she helped take care of Ivan the gorilla. Jane and Cecil retired in 1979 and moved to Salkum, Wa. They enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel trailer and wintering in Yuma, Arizona. She leaves us with countless memories of her love and devotion. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cecil, her brothers Burke Bleecker (Audre) and Bob Bleecker (June), daughters Sandy Morley, Sue Luteman (George), Shirley Dauth, Janet Delgado, son Don Zimmer (Casey), eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Bleecker and sister Doris Gee. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, January 22nd, at Mt. FaulknerChristinaChristina Mae Faulkner was born Aug. 25, 1960 in Powell, Kentucky, and passed away Jan. 14, 2010 in Tacoma, Washington. She leaves behind her partner of 26 years, Charlie Abbott, and her children, daughter Brandy, son Darrell, daughter-in-law Tammy, and their two sons, Darrell and Dakoda, her brother and 5 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. We loved her and will miss her. We will keep her in our hearts forever. Anita Haddon passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 after a courageous battle with heart disease and its complications. She was born August 23, 1927 in Anacortes, WA. but spent most of her adult life in Tacoma, WA. She met and married the love of her life, our dad, Howard Haddon on June 21, 1945. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and they had many adventures throughout their life together. Some humorous, some scary but all a part of her long and wonderful life. He preceded her in death by some 27 years, but her love for him never died. She was a dedicated member of F.O.E. Aerie #3, and spent many tireless days and nights working for the betterment of the club. She volunteered her time and energy, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do to help make it a successful club. She is survived by her daughter Glory Truax, son Dan and wife Kathy Haddon, grandchildren Tonya, Nick and Chris and great grandchildren Jordan, Chase, Avery and Natalie. Please help us celebrate her life Saturday, January 23rd at F.O.E. #3, 4810 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA. starting at 5:00 pm. We will miss you, our mother, our grandmother, our friend.
