The Lone Ranger and other Golden Age Radio Shows

January 19, 2010 By Ben Sclair

Lakewood, WA — Join Lakewood Playhouse for another evening (February 18) of wine, beer, hors d’oeuvres and radio. This time they are bringing The Lone Ranger to the stage, as well as The Green Hornet, and Sgt. Preston of the Yukon – all radio programs haling from Detroit. Reception will begin at 7pm with wine and beer for sale and free hors d’oeuvres, the show will begin at 8pm. Tickets are $30 for individuals and $50 for couples.

A talented cast of regional actors, directed by Lakewood Playhouse Production Manager James Venturini, bring these famous stories to life on Lakewood Playhouse’s intimate stage. This is a one time event. As with Lakewood Playhouse’s previous radio play events, the programs are presented as if the audience is watching radio actors, directors and sound effects personnel broadcasting the shows from inside a radio studio.

Lakewood Playhouse is located at 5729 Lakewood Towne Center Blvd, next to the Pierce Transit Center in the heart of the Lakewood Towne Center. For reservations and tickets call the Lakewood Playhouse Box Office at 253-588-0042 or visit www.lakewoodplayhouse.org.
