University Place City Council Retreat

The City of University Place will hold two retreats. One on Friday, January 8 in University Place and a second on Saturday, January 9 in Gig Harbor. Following are the location, time and agenda for both.

2010 Council Retreat on January 8, 2010 at the Town Center Gallery at 3715 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466 from 6:30–10 p.m. Following is the agenda:

1. Call Special Meeting to Order and Welcome – Mayor Pro Tem

2. Dinner @ 6:30 p.m.

3. Introduction – Tina Janni, Business & Management Training Center, Bates Technical College

Council Introductions – Let’s Get to Know You

4. Working Session – “New Year, New Normal”

a. Drivers Wanted: Leadership Style & Strengths

b. Map the Journey: Aspirations & Expectations

c. Operating Manual: Council System – Ground Rules & Council Rules (Consent Agenda)

4. User Interface: Council and Staff Roles and Expectations

5. Final Thoughts & Considerations

6. Adjournment

On Saturday, January 9 from 9 am to 6 pm, the council will meet at The Best Western Wesley Inn at 6575 Kimball Drive, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Following is the agenda:
