Silence in the Tacoma Dome, one could cut it with a knife
As the community gathered round to mourn another life.
Bagpipes, drums and marching broke the heavy stillness,
All sad with loss and grief… because of another’s mental illness.
We will not forget the fallen six or the families left behind
We will strive to always understand, and with others to be kind.
The gift that is our safety comes at such high cost….
Hold dear the ones you love before, they too, are lost!
